Cognitive task analysis conducted to elicit the tacitly held knowledge and intuitive thought processes used while managing a range of complex, non-routine fire incidents. Researcher interviewed 31 experienced firefighters and identified a range of training needs as well as practical implications for transferring expert knowledge into learning tasks that could aid the cognitive development of novices.
