Cognitive task analysis conducted to examine the monitor technician roles from a human factors perspective, with a particular focus on the monitor technicians coordination and communication with nurses and respiratory therapists. Researchers interviewed three MTs, three RNs, and two RTs to capture safety concerns associated with alarm/alert responses and provide recommendations for improving the alarm and alert response.
